Following up on its success developing the 9.79MW solar array at Campbell Soup's operations in Napoleon, Ohio, BNB is developing a 5MW wind farm at the Pepperidge Farm facility in nearby Willard. BNB has been studying the wind in this region of Ohio for more than five years, and the wind resource as well as the property's general land constraints make a wind farm the optimal choice for this site. The project is one of several BNB is developing for Campbell Soup throughout the United States. Campbell is engaged in a historical, company-wide sustainability effort, with the goal of sourcing 40 percent of its energy from renewable resources by 2020. In April of 2012, after a competitive request for proposals, Campbell awarded BNB the exclusive right to develop, own, and operate renewable power plants across its North American sites.
